Went To Waitrose And They Accepted Any Coupons/Vouchers!

Hi

After reading up on here, yesterday OH and I went to Waitrose. We didnt need loads but I had several vouchers but some the same.

OH pushed me in a wheelchair with the trolley attached (must be a man that invented this a sit was a pain in the !!!!!!..lol). We seperated into 2 small sections:

(1)-2 x Fabric conditioners, milk, 2 x bread, large bag of sugar, mail newspaper, large chicken, bread rolls, rich tea biscuits, cream, block of cheddar, pack of gammon ham. Total £12.12. Used £4.65 vouchers-Cost £7.47
Saved 39%

(2)-onions, milk, 2 lovely pieces of fresh cod, gammon ham, toffee crisps, drifters (both on special), 24 bags of walkers cheese & onion crisps, eggs, squirt dettol neatro air spray thing (normally £10 reduced to £5), lettuce, cucumber, new potatoes, coleslaw. Total £14.59. Used £5.90 vouchers-Cost £8.69
Saved 40%

So bought £26.71 of goods and paid £13.34-half basically.

I think I did pretty well:confused: The best CS you would get anywhere and the food quality excellent! We have decided to do a big shop once a month and top ups at Waitrose. Our weekly shop is normally £30 a week so this will cut it down further. Waitrose take any amount of vouchers but some dont double up on them and you dont have to buy the items. The prices actually werent too bad, and alot of the branded items were cheaper then the Waitrose variety:eek: £2.50 for washing up liquid-just because it had John Lewis written on it:eek:

Obviously, please dont take the p*ss as it will ruin it for us all and they will bring in rules like Asda and Tesco have.

HTH someone.

Well done, I keep meaning to try my local Waitrose but haven't got around to it yet. This is encouraging. I will probably go to CS first and ask what their coupon-limit is, if any, so I know what I can afford to spend!

I asked the lad and he said their policy was to accept any voucher as long as it scanned, but no doubling up! I only can state what I was told yesterday so unofficially.....officially:rotfl: :p

If you type in 'coupons' at the top of the page and 'search chat forum' you will find recent threads confirming this. Also loads of threads about Asda and Tesco accepting some too (or lots, depending on the store).

Here's a recent link specifically about Waitrose and coupon acceptance:

If you are not yet a coupon collector I recommend you start reading the Newspaper Summary on this board every day, or regularly searching for new threads on 'coupons'. I do and I have wedges of manufacturers' coupons all the time, I never shop for food now without using at least one (if not twenty-one) money-off vouchers. Go for it all you newbies! :D

I am from America and did a lot of coupons there (they give lots of coupons every week in the newspapers), but you have to use it on the actual product. It's surprising to me that you can use coupons here even if you don't buy that product. However, if that's the way stores work and you don't have to try and cheat them, I'm not going to complain!!!

    thanks

In my waitrose they type in the vouchers and do not scan for some reason - I spent £50 and knocked it down to £26 with coupons! The checkout assistant was more than happy - i even emailed head office first to check it was ok and it was! Bye bye Asda and Tesco :p

I work in Morrisons (only during the summer thank god) on the checkouts. We key in the value of the coupons you give us, if you've done a big shop, the chances are, us people on the checkouts (especially the students ie. people my age) won't even check if you actually purchased something you give us a coupon for. I know i don't.

A new Waitrose has opened today at the Brunswick Centre in Central London, at Russell Square tube station. They are handing out £3 vouchers for a £30 spend, £4/£40 and £6/£60 that expire in December. I will attempt to gather a bundle of coupons plus one of these vouchers and see how it goes. Has anyone else tried it there yet?

Went to the new Waitrose in Brunswick Centre in Central London today and used £2 pounds worth of coupons + the free Bounty coupon (which I used to get a pack of Bounty). Balance due was £3.59, I paid 10p! The SA was really nice and didn't bat an eye, just ran the coupons through no problems.
    I :heart2: Waitrose
