Left Luggage in London

Will be travelling to London in the summer and need to leave luggage for around 6 hours in Central London while we explore and dine before taking tube to Heathrow (staying at Heathrow Travelodge Central) before an early morning flight the next day. Won’t have time to traipse out to Heathrow to check in at Travelodge and dump our bags and back again.

Is there an alternative to the scandalous cost of ₤8.00 per item (first 24 hour or part of) that the Left Luggage at Euston charges? We are a family of 5 so it amounts to ₤40 just to leave our bags for a couple of hours. Ideally we’d like to leave bags as close as possible to Euston (or somewhere near a Piccadilly Line Station for easy access to Heathrow).

Tried the search function on the Forum and there is a previous thread that mentions National History Museum, Science Museum and British Museum only charge a quid per item so I'll probably use those as the first 2 are close to Picadilly line for Heathrow. ₤5 for 5 cases is better than ₤40 for 5 cases!
