Well, I'm not really, have been lurking forever and love this site. But have been gaily posting away this morning and realised I hadn't introduced myself! How rude!
Don't have much time to post during the week as I work full time (thread below on full time work and OS was really interesting)and have two children but do come on daily just to catch up. Have been converted to Stardrops, use them for everything and have really been OS for quite some time without even realising it!
Am off to make roasted tomato soup for big family lunch today in honour of my mums birthday and lovely uncle and aunt currently visiting from Italy. Also need to start packing as off on hols next week, not sure when as haven't booked the flights yet, DS's passport still not arrived! So need to be prepared to jump in car and go if we don't want to pay over the odds
Enjoy your Sundays all!

Welcome! I see you know your way around already
The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.0 -
welcome MimiF
i am going to try this one penny-pincher
tomato soup
400g tin tomatoes, 2 dsps tomato puree, 1 potato diced,1 onion diced
2 tsps basil, oil and dsp marg
put onion in a little oil and marg and sweat for a couple of mins
add potato, cook slow 10 mins
take juice from tomatoes and make up to 500 ml with water
add to pan with tomatoes, puree, basil, pinch of salt
simmer uncovered till potatoes are soft, blend
add a swirl of cream (opt)
i think i will add some chopped carrots and might use chicken stock instead of water0 -
Thanks twink - I've written down your recipe, I like tomato soup and your recipe seems very easy to do.
I think outside the box - I can also think round corners.

Hi MimiF
I'm also a newbie to this fantastic forum but have been lurking for a long time. Why not add your details to the Getting to know you thread at the top.
