I've just received a question to one of my ebay items as follows:

Hi my friend,

We can guarantee you high quality , low price and best service,no matter how many products you want.We will try our best to make you satisfied.
If you are really interested in our products, please contact us.
MSN ADDRESS: (etime8888@hotmail.com)
our telephone:(+8610--89649892)
welcome to visit our website: https://www.etime8.com.
Sincerely yours
wenying liu

I had a quick look at the website and some of the prices are good but I'm far too suspicious to be tempted especially as some of the spelling/ grammar is iffy and western union is mentioned as a payment method. You can't buy through the website, you need to contact them via email or MSN.

Has anyone else come across this outfit?
Just because you used to be you think everybody else is, don't you?

Sorry but I have suspicions that you may be behind the website.
It's obviously dodgy so why 'advertise' it by posting it on here?

I certainly am not behind it- I put it on here because I haven't come across this version of scamming before and hoped it might be a useful warning to others. Not sure your logic stands up either- "have a look at this, by the way I think its dodgy".

    Slightly offended.....

So everyone who posts a potential scam is now "advertising" it?

I was selling a projector and I was getting messages like this about 5 times a day.

I gave up reporting them to ebay in the end as nothing was done about it. Just delete them but dont buy from them.
    2012 wins approx £11,000 including 5k to spend on a holiday :j

I was thinking of winding them up via email or MSN- anyone see any problems with this or am I being paranoid about them having access to info on my PC? Any suggestions?

I've been receiving these on a few on my items recently. It's quite annoying since you get your hopes up it would be a genuin question from a buyer, instead you get people trying to advertise their sites.
    This one came today:

Q: Dear friend, are you searching for Scanners with better quality and lower prices? Please come to our site ( https://www.shhwj.com ), you will find a great selection of the electronics available in new design and model. Besides, we promise that you will get the best services here. your interests, our aims. So any questions please don't hesitate to contact my Email and MSN: nbob111@yahoo.com.cn. Thanks for your interests.

i also received this email, actually thought at first someone was interested in something i was selling :o

i had no idea what to do, i haven't looked at the site and had no idea whether messages like that had to be reported to ebay as they do on here
