Fitted Sheets

I really struggle to get fitted sheets to fit over my mattress - it's a standard double and is 26cm deep but I can just about get them stretched over, but there's no hope of getting them properly tucked under the corners, so they always creep upwards. I was wondering if I bought a kingsize fitted sheet I might bet a better fit, or would that be overkill and be all saggy? What do the rest of you do?

Kingsize or buy from Ikea as their standard size is bigger.0

Dunelm sell some special 'extra deep' fitted sheets for thicker mattresses.

We have this exact same problem i dont know where we got them from but i know one of these here betterware or kleeneze catalogues have strap like things that look like suspenders that go across the corners and hold things in place.

You can also look in John Lewis for "extra deep" fitted sheets - they do really lovely egyptian cotton!
Hope you find something that works.....those straps look like they could be a good idea....0 -
Thanks for all you suggestions. It's a shame there isn't more choice of colours for those extra deep ones. I think I'll buy a kingsize and test it out - I'm far too lazy to use extra straps on my sheets, I hate changing the sheets already without adding clippy things to the chore!:rotfl:0

Don't buy kingsize!! It will be all baggy and you will have to keep pulling it tight and tucking it under. We have the extra deep ones from John Lewis and they are a really good fit.To be in your child's memories tomorrow, be in their life today.0

We bought some of these and they're fantastic. Much better than trying to stretch them out and having the corners pinging back.0 -

I agree,John Lewis is definitely worth a look. They seem to cater for deeper mattresses. I got some fitted sheets for single beds in their last clearance/sale so they were alot cheaper and fitted far better than ones from elsewhere. Usually £9.99 for a single sheet and I got them for £4 or £4.50 I can't remember exactly. They do lots of different colours as well. If you can wait for the next clearance time then buy them then or check their website as they some times have offers, like their special purchases. HTH.0 -
You could use sheet straps or fasteners. They clip to your sheets to hold them on - they can be bought from Amazon.c.uk0
