peter the piper, kwaks
Thanks for replying, i wasnt expecting a response! I'm pretty sure it was a council ticket? The other half deals with it all but i'll double check when he gets in from work. He has already emailed 'whoever issued the ticket' and had an email back last night saying they had passed it on. If we find out its not a council ticket do we just ignore it still, even tho weve contacted them? Again thanks for replying, i'll keep you both updated x0 -
If its private, no mention of council anywhere's, then its safe to ignore. If its council host on tinypic and post url on here (after removing personal details of course.) See stickies on howto.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

will do peter, thanks! I'll hunt it out now x0

Def not, dont ignore a Council Ticket or you could find yourself with a larger fine.
If it does turn out to be the Council, suggest you appeal. But before you appeal (an appeal also prolongs the early payment option), def do as other posters have suggested post a copy of ticket with personal details obliterated, so the experts can check the exact wording & advise on how to word the appeal.
Have emailed the Blue Badge issuing authorities re putting the displaying Blue Badge Instructions clearly on the Badge itself, & got this reply.
"Amendments have been made to the design of the Blue Badge in 2007 which introduced the words “Front – display this side up” to ensure that people are aware which side should be on display. The older style badges are still in use, but as people are renewing the badge they will receive the newer style badge. We have found, like you have said that a number of people make the mistake of displaying the badge with the photograph facing up and the information that is vital to the parking enforcement officers is the serial number, date of expiry and issuing authority details. "
So the problem is so common that they have actually done something about this, however this does not help existing old design Blue Badge Holders.
I have emailed a copy of the Blue Badge Authorities reply to the County Council, as supporting evidence. But still haven't had a reply.0 -

At long last, Carlisle Council have replied and as long as I dont do it again (as if I would be that stupid - am now over zealous in checking which way round the Badge is displayed & have even been known to advise other disabled drivers when I have spotted there badge left the wrong way round!!) I am to be let off the fine - Hurrah!
So anyone in a similar situation - Appeal, Appeal & Appeal!!!0 -
