hi,
my daughter has just had this new laptop on the government scheme http://www.xma4ha.co.uk/Brands/Brands_Toshiba.aspx and is having problems trying to use facebook (i know I know) - on the lil farm application it works okay for a while then crashes out or blocks up, and on the aquarium one it wont load just crashes straight away.
Any advice? please? (other than dont use facebook)
(I know these laptops meant mainly for school work, but you know what kids are and it is half term! lol)
many thanks

Your aware of the number of viruses doing the rounds in some facebook applications yes?:idea:0

Those applications sound like their legit assuming they're the same one's I'm thinking of, however they are very hard on computer resources. What are the names of the applications?Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0

They are called 'lil' farm life' and the other is 'happy aquarium'

Not the one's I was thinking of, but they should be okay virus wise. I know several people using the latter with no problems. What actually happens during the crash? Does the browser close or does everything just freeze up? You could try using a different browser (Firefox, Chrome)Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0

well, on lil farm the screen goes paler and the rotating circle comes up like its trying to do something, then blocks up and shuts down browser,
on aquarium it just comes up straight away wiv your browser is not responding or similar message
thanks for your help x0 -
Downloaded the latest JAVA and FLASH updates? Do you use IE or FIREFOX?:idea:0

Ok, on the first one, it sounds like either a server problem, or an internet problem. Just noticed it came with mobile broadband, so it's possible that you aren't in a 3G area, so it's not fast enough to load this game. If you're using fixed line broadband however, then I'd suggest that the game's servers are overloaded. (Happens quite a bit with facebook games!)
For the second issue, try updating flash player (either one of the top 2 depending on your browser) or try Firefox or Google Chrome if you're using IE. By the way, are all the Microsoft security updates installed?Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -
