Perlator/Aerator for Franke Tap

Hi all,
I recently installed a new Franke Zurich tap in my kitchen but I'm not too happy about the tap and the lack of an aerator/perlator.
The tap has two pipes withing the arm, an inner tube supplying the hot water and the housing supplies the cold. The hot water comes out in a single high pressured jet and usually sprays water everywhere. My previous tap had a great aerotor fitted and never splashed at all even when the tap was fully opened.
I was wondering if it's possible to purchase an aftermarket aearator that will fit this tap, I'd need a male fitting, but I'm not sure if aerators that I've seen on eBay will be sufficient or compatible with the Franke Zurich tap.
Does anyone know if you can fot an aerator to a dual supply spout?
TIA

Hi
The easiest thing to do would be to contact Franke?
GSR.Ask to see CIPHE (Chartered Institute of Plumbing & Heating Engineering)0 -
I did send an email to Franke last night and received a reply this morning with contact details for two agents that deal with service parts and accessories for Franke products. The one dealer has what I need but the kit consists of two flexi tails with non return valve and a perlator/aerator that will simply screw into the tap spout. The cost of this is around £24 inc delivery. I'm wondering if the flexi tails with non return valves are really necessary if an aerator is to be fitted, my previous tap just had normal 10mm flexi tails.
I did see some aerators on eBay, 24mm male which looks like they'll fit (not sure about thread though) and they range from £3 to £8, just wondering if they're compatible with the tap. I did contact the sellers about compatibility but so far no replies.0 -
Hi
I too have just purchsed a Franke Zurich tap and wanted an Aerator for it, I tried using an aerator bought from ebay @ £6.99. The problem with this aerator design is that though it screws into the tap OK (22mm thread) there is no rim/shoulder on the aerator to but up to the taps rim to create a water tight seal ie cant use a rubber washer, currently water leaks out between the two threads tap and aerator. Im going to try some ptfe tape later to see if that works. If anyone has a better idea Id be happy to hear it.
Due to the leak between the threads of the ebay aerator and the tap nozzle I used ptfe tape wrapped around the aerator thread. This was a tricky job and found I needed about 6 turns of tape, more than you would normally need if doing a compression joint, but hey presto no leaks or drips, problem solved (it took several goes though), I now have aerated hot and cold water.
Note: inside the Franke tap spout there is a rubber connector which fits between its plastic zozzle and an interan pipe supplying the hot water, when I removed the plastic nozzle this came out with it, no big deal, I fitted the aerator without it, works fine.
Any one interested the Aerator type used was a Neoperl 8 litres a minute from ebay @ £6.99 post paid.0 -

Hi coshamdoug,
I have also just purchased a Zurich tap and have the same problem. Do you still need tape wheb you used the aerator you bought from ebay? Sorry, just a bit confused by your note at the end.
Thanks,
