"free ID protection" is free

But in AVG, you have to pay to get anything above a basic antivirus. And it's not really as good as some of the other paid-for antiviruses available.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
Dont pay for the full AVG suite whatever you do
If you MUST pay then go for something decent like Kaspersky:idea:0 -
Hi i've got free AVG and next to the ID part,it says activate now -when i do that it takes me to a page where i have to pay to upgrade it !!0

AVG has become a bloated mess these days, and constantly nags you to 'upgrade' to a paid-for version, with silly features you don't need. Just uninstall it and go for Avast instead.poppy100

Constantly nags? I have never been nagged once by AVG free yet...[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.
[/greenhighlight][redtitle]
The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that[/redtitle](house of lords debate, talking about Cameron)0 -

Penny
I would uninstall your version of AVG from control panel (does one require a removal tool for AVG as well?)
Edit: Just had a look and you do need to use a removal tool for AVG....

Download a new copy from filehippo.com

Personally I would choose one of the other free AVs but it is up to yourself.0 -

I'm also using AVG Free and when you open up the overview page, on the right hand side it gives you an option to get complete Internet security which it says includes ID protection and Complex Threat Detection.
When you select Get complete Internet Security, it takes you to a Buy It Now page asking you to pay £35.99 inc. VATNever let the perfume of the premium overpower the odour of the risk0 -
