I got my statement today and found 2 charges of £25 on my account for unauthorised overdrafts. I called them and they agreed pretty much straight away to remove one of the charges. I said thank you, but I believe you can do better. He explained that they are allowed to let me off one charge every 12 months, to which I replied 'Cancel that charge to or I'm walking'. He went way and came back after a moment and confirmed that I would only be charged interest, and neither of the charges.
Just remember to stay polite, stick to your guns and be in a position to carry out your threat. I'm going to have to watch myself now tho, I think I've lost my grace with them for a few months. At least I saved myself £50 by bothering to contest it.
