I would appreciate some advice from persons with more experience of this. I may have to change to part time working to help care for my elderly disabled mum she is in reciept of the higher rate of dla for care and mobility. I maybe switching from a 48hour 4x12hour shifts to work 27 hours a week i would like to know if i would be able to claim any benefits to make up for what i would be losing which could work out as much as 4 grand a year

If you earn under £95 pw after deductions you could claim carers allowance but it could reduce your mothers benefits if she recieves any.0 -
working 27 hours a week you wont qualify for carers allowance as your income will be too high0
