Hey Folks,
My old faithful Lexmark, colour/black printer Z60 has finally passed away after nearly 5yrs of fantastic service, which i only paid £30 pounds for when brand new which included all necessary cables!
So, now i'm looking for a new printer. How expensive are they?!
I literally want a basic colour/black printer, nothing fancy but something that will work and is moderately reliable.
Suggestions needed please!

I just bought a Canon MP560 which is probably a bit OTT for your needs but the print quality is excellent and Canon seem to be top choice for the reviewers at the moment. The Canon Pixma IP2600 can be had from £28 but personally I would go for the IP 3600 which uses an extra black for higher quality. They are £58 up.0 -
Yep canon are a good printer I got the all in one mp270 recently and its great, its about £50. Carts are cheaper than the lexmark ones depends where you get them though plus mine are lasting ages and I've done alot of printing with mine so far:D0

From my own experience, Canon Pixma printers are good. I'm currently using a Pixma iP4300, purchased from the Canon Outlet on eBay.
Previously used a Pixma iP4000 which did a lot of work - passed it on to a neighbour and it's still giving good service.
The Canon Outlet is currently offering the Pixma iP4600 for £59.99 as a "Buy It Now": http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Canon-Outlet-PIXMA-iP4600-Refurbished_W0QQitemZ290401659358QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CamerasPhoto_Printers_Printers_JN?hash=item439d49a9de
I do a lot of printing and use the ready chipped compatible ink cartridges from Inkredible and have never had any problems with them. Great service, usually next day delivery. (You can buy unchipped cartridges and swop the chip over but I'd rather buy cartridges that are ready to go and minimise any problems.) If you prefer to select your own mix of cartridges instead of taking a standard selection then have a look on Badger Inks.#Life isn't about waiting for the storms to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain #We must be willing to let go of the life we planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us #If you focus on what you have left behind, you will never see what lies ahead - Gusteau/RatatouilleGC 2022: £0/£2,500 total spend0 -
I would personally reccommend a Brother printer. Brother All-in-ones are relatively inexpensives to buy and maintain especially if you use compatible cartridges which are just as good but at a fraction of the price. Most compatible and remanufactured cartridges also come with a guarantee so if you have only ever used original cartridges before there is some form of reassurance when trying them.0
