Student account with santander

Just a quick query. Im (hopefully) heading to do law full time in september. I currently have a current account with a £100 overdraft with Alliance Leicester, soon to be santander. If I switch to a student account, would i be able to get an overdraft seeing as i have on with them already? They say student account ods are subject to status and i have a beyond awful credit rating. Although for the past good while all my payments are being made and very rarely go into unauthorised OD, about twice this year.

I will probably have to switch as there is a minimum payment into the acc required pm. which wont happen when im a student.

If you plan to apply to the SRA to practice as a lawyer then you need to watch your credit file!
Any evidence that you can not maintain yourself ie defaults etc will mean your called into question as fit.

I have got a bad credit rating (not due to me, but i won't go into that)

But before i did i got a 750 pound overfraft and now i've got a bad credit rating they won't let me extend it any more. I'm in my fouth year, i'm quite glad that i don't have a big overdraft but sometimes i could of really used that money and couldn't afford food.
