Insure & Go

Insure & Go have been highlighted on this site as been the cheapest Travel insurance company. My knowledge is very different, I was quoted £ 42.50 for 1 years travel insurance, but because I had a heart attack 11 years ago and must add no probs since, Insure and go decided to add another £800 to the anual rate, well as you can imagine this nearly gave me another heart attack, would anyone say this was right and fair.

Their prices are very competitive if you fit their parameters but as if so often the case falling outside their bracket by a smidgeon racks up the price.I hope you found something more reasonable without too much trouble.

  • Their policy states the following:

"No cover is available at all if you suffer from, or have suffered from, any diagnosed psychological or psychiatric disorder, anxiety or depression" (page 3)

With 1/3 of the population suffering from depression at some point in their lives (and this could be a mild depression), the undefined notion of "psychological disorder" (could be anything really) and those suffering from anxiety for quite reasonable reasons (e.g. bullying), this policy is probably invalid to a significant minority - if not the majority - of the population.

What you usually find is that companies like that cherry pick the easy and profitable business. They don't want to consider the less profitable end so price themselves high in those areas.
