We were recently in Thailand and luckily missed the problems, however we had paid £90 deposit on the hotel by Visa beforehand, the hotel was in Phuket but the flight was obviously cancelled by the airline, who gave us a refund, for the flight only. I don't even know if the hotel is still there!
The insurance company are a waste of time. Is this money refundable by Visa? they say no cos we didn't buy extra travel insurance off them. I was under the impression if you paid by Visa you buy of them and they are liable, anyone got any thoughts on this?
