    Hi David

Are you saying windows will not shutdown even if you go to start > Turn Off Computer > Turn Off ?

You can do a forced shutdown by typing shutdown -s -f into the Start > Run box.
  • stll shuts down that way but still have widows message saying click here to update, windows will auto shut down. but doesnt thanks
  • Have you tried to remove the windows update? It could be that you have a corrupted update causing the problem.

  • hi thanks how do i remove
  • Depends on your version of windows of course, Im on windows 7 and you go into add or remove programs then to installed updates and you can remove it from there. If you can I would remove the updates, restart and then update again.

How long are you waiting to see if it shuts down, some updates can take a while to do, especially on slower computers.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that
