Possible Holiday Scam! HELP!

I was called today saying I had won a free trip to orlando and stuff. I am usually wary of this sort of stuff and hit the '1' I needed to just to see what happens of this.

I get this person on a really bad line who goes on really quickly and says 'you are getting rewarded for a good credit report' and I say 'really? which bank is this then?' They cant answer so I am wary and say not interested. He transfers me onto a 'manager' and I say not interested sorry and then he goes 'we will charge you for this call as you have wasted my money' and I go 'WHAT?? YOU called' and he goes 'NO, YOU hit 1' at which I immediately disconnected.

I searched and apparently this is a credit card fraud. I DID NOT GIVE ANY DETAILS WHAT SO EVER except my first name and phone number at the start (I DIDNT EVEN HAVE MY CARD ON ME) - am I safe from this?

I am really really worried and anxious. I know this might sound stupid but you never know with these scumbags.

Yes, however when you pressed 1, these types of calls usually transfers you to a premium rate number (£1+ a minute) which gets added to your phone bill.

You should expect a costly phone bill next month.

As long as you haven't given your credit card details, then you have nothing to worry about, just a scam & they were probably hoping to get your details over the phone. If you have given your details then call your credit card provider ASAP

If you have not given your details then you are safe as houses.

As for the scum bags tryinging to con you, they are the same as mere scum from which I scrape off the bottom of my shoe.

If it's only your telephone number then thats not a big issue, they'll probably try again calling you... who knows, if they do just put the phone down without talking

Now that I rationally think about this, how can they take something when I have not given them any details what so ever?

My name and telephone number cannot link them to my debit card number.

Urban myth - unless things have changed very recently the UK telephone system makes no provision (technically) for such a transfer to be possible

Another thing came into my head:

Because I gave them my telephone number - can they abuse that to call other people?
