Nearly a month now between app being submitted and nothing, broker said they couldn't read copies of payslips so he sent them off again, that was 3 weeks in now I am guessing back of the queue!!!!!!!
Hope you get the offer soon.0 -
Compare A&L with Nationwide - I have been told today that my offer is in the post following a satisfactory valuation. Time from initial app via their website to mortgage offer - 9 days. :j0

No doubt Nationwide are clearly ahead of the game compared to A&L. However A&L was the option for me as they lend a maximum of 5.5 earning mutiples which I needed.0

5.5 at what LTV?0

This is a common occurence with them...docs are faxed to them and then scanned on to the system...then they say they can't read them. Your case goes back in the Q and the clock stops, they rcv new docs updated in the Q andclock start and wait another 5/6 days to be assessed....
I would have hoped brokers had wised up to this and posted docs by recorded delivery.0 -
Getting frustrated with it now and ready to try next lender I can't believe they have such a backlog in the current Market and they can't keep blaming restructure - a transition of this size will have that much money in the project budget it should be seamless!!!0

I am sure you are fed up with the wait...but you have waited this long..so it's worth waiting another week...if you go to another lender you start the process all over again..Easter weekend starts 1/2nd April, you can guarantee no matter what lender you go to... this would add another week on to the process due to holidays....0

All lenders have had this type of issue over the years. As Vigilant says, you may be fed up but is it worth starting all over?"Banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies." Thomas Jefferson

A&L have have now had the app for over a month, the credit check was carried out on 10/2! I heard from the broker today who has being trying to get in touch with them for two days. They have now thrown out using P60s as income evidence and will use the payslips, both of which were supplied at outset with the app. Why not just use the information whilst it is in front of them to ge the decision?
Oh no that would be too easy it has now again been referred to an underwriter and will join the back of the queue. Is this potentially another month to wait??
Surely this isn't right. My broker states it is because they are the only ones holding their rates and not offering deals for a month and then pulling. They have too much and work and a merger to deal with. Even he has now suggested the possibility of looking elsewhere.
They threw out the the P60 because included a significant bonus which has been paid for a number of years and even got paid last month, they don't have the evidence of this and I don't feel it should be supplied at this stage as it wouldn't make a difference and they have decide to do it without.
All I want is 'no' so I can move on, it feels like they have wasted a month of my life and are now set to waste another one!!!0 -
I do feel sorry for you JA1000 but your broker is probably only giving you half the truth.
The fact is they are MUCH WORSE than he is making out. I have cases with them that I can get no updates on, no feedback, no nothing. They are an appalling shambles at the moment which is a shame as I always found them really quite a good lender. It's the curse of Abbey. With this merger I was hoping that Abbey would be dragged up to the decent service A & L once provided but (and as I suspected) the oposite was true and A & L get dragged down to Abbeys' usual pityfull service levels.
Caveat emptor0
