Help with the SONY ERICSSON W395

Dh got one of these yesterday and it has a couple of weird issues that neither of us know how to sort.

The names came up twice when he put his old sim card in, he started deleting one of each but is there a reason for this and quicker way than going through all the names

When it rings no name comes up, both looked through it and cannot see anything to change..ideas?

OK - sounds as if the names have been stored to both sim card and phone. Sometimes removing them from the phone and just keeping them on the sim can sort this. It can confuse the phone, especially if they are in different formats - I always use the international +44 prefix rather the british one (eg +44770.... not 0770...)

If this does not work - it'll be a conflict with your sim & the software on the phone. YOu may need to update the phone software, or change the sim

Thanks..do you think if he puts the sim back in the old phone and saves numbers to phone and sim it would help?
If not what software does he need?

try the steps in this order:

- Make sure there's only 1 version of each number on the phone, stored on the sim
- make sure ever number is in the +44 format

If this doesn;t sort it - then try updating the firmware from here:

If that still doesn;t get the names up - then contact the service provider for the sim. They may be able to flash the card.
