Morphy Richards - refund issue

As Pedant says really.
Hear what you are saying regarding the item being a used item, but the principle of contractual damages is not like, say, insurance whereby wear and tear is taken into account.0 -

I didn't realise that, which was exactly the basis I was using in my assumption.
Thanks!Thinking critically since 1996....0 -
I have only had this item for just under a year (it is already a replacement as the initial item I purchased was also faulty and had to be replaced - the original I also only had for about a year). As such, it is effectively only 12 months into a 24 month contract. I probably only use it 2 or 3 times a month.Don't know about that - it shouldn't last for the length of the guarantee and then go wrong, which is what is implied by the offer. But, hey, it's under their guarantee and they can do that if they want.
I guess there are two options. Press MR for a bigger refund (after all, if they want to admit you only get two years' usage from their products, that's their lookout).
The other, slightly more underhand and risky way, is to order something on the site, then return it under DSR for refund - but I don't know if that would be allowed, someone would probably have to clarify that.0 -
They no longer make any food processors so they are unable to replace it.Equaliser123 wrote: »No it isn't reasonable at all. Absolutely no way a food processor should conk out after 2 years.
OP - go for the replacement. Is the same item available within 'budget'?
It seems odd that they will allow me to spend the £118.99 on their site to buy any other of their products (which I don't need or want) but won't give me the money in a refund so I can buy a replacement for the product I do want. Seems contradictory to me???0
