Premier Finance reclaiming PPI

Hi all, had a wee look in the search facility to see if I could find anything about Premier Finance but no results.
I got a phone call from them the other day saying that as I had taken out a mortgage through I-Group in 2006, I might have been sold something they called a Single Payment <<something or other>> policy without realising it - sorry I can't recall the exact terminology and can't find the bit of paper I wrote it on at this moment! But assume it's similar to PPI.
They took a few details and said they can 'open my file' to check and if I was mis-sold one of these policys, they can claim it back on a no win, no fee basis.
This payment could be anything from £500 - £5000 apparently, and if they win they keep 30%.
Has anyone else had this happen / has anyone heard of Premier Finance - thought it sounded a bit dodgy but as it isn't costing me anything I told them to open my file and check. Hope it's not a scam!

Do not go anywhere near this company they are obvioiusly a claims company. I hope you did not give them any personal information.
If you are able to claim back PPI then you can do it with the information on this site and all it will cost you is the price of a stamp. These companies usually want money up front before they will even look into these things. Also if it was on a mortgage then it would not be the same as if it was Payment Protection Insusrance on a loan.
It is seen as good practice to cover yourself on a Mortgage.
Anyway if you need any help on claiming back then let us know and somebody will guide you.:mad:0 -
Thanks...gulp....they already had my name and phone number, think I just 'confirmed' my address and employment status.
Bum, hope they don't scam me! I won't be paying anything up front.Used to be called something else on here but can't remember what so had to register again!0 -
