also....its not that difficult to make sure you include a ref number on yer SO payment
Indeed it's not ..... so you would be astonished at how many people can't cope with it.
However .... if you do intend to write you should mention they allow payment via BACS. And that method, of course, requires exactly the same data as a Standing Order (Sort Code / Account Number / Reference)? So you may wish to pose the question?
They will give you a woolly answer ...... and also point out that BACS is only available for payments in full. Whereas you're wanting to make multiple payments. But you might as well ask?If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
thanks mickeyorks,.,.,.thats really really helpful...
i did see that you can make a bacs payment but not if its your first year??....bit strange.....i think thats a good way in though......
im sure that my customers would benefit..and indeed so would the TV Licence people..if SO's were an option.....im sure they stopped doing SO's for the reasons you outlined.....but maybe there could be certain conditions or something were they would allow a SO arrangements.......
apparently there is a fee included in the Licence amount for handling DD's..i wonder if the same was true of SO's when they did them?....and if so...well you get it...

apparently there is a fee included in the Licence amount for handling DD's
Not if you pay monthly. The only charge applies if you pay quarterly by DD. But bear in mind that for monthly payments you do (assuming you start when a licence is due) have to pay for the first one in 6 months. then you pay for the next 6 months in advance and 6 months in arrears. But, overall, you do only pay the flat licence fee.If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
gotcha....my reliable source on that one was wikipedia....0
