I feel I must defend JV a bit here, he often does this when Martin is on, I think it's a little bit of a wind up. He knows how passionate Martin is & likes to get him going a bit to emphasise his point.moozie wrote:Way to go Martin - I love the passion
Loved his comment near the end when the guy was on with a wife with massive debts, something along the lines of " I wish the BBA man was on now".

I'm just listening to it now!

This board gets a mention at 1hr and 47mins! :j He comes on after about an hour and is on for nearly 50 minutes! Well worth listening to!
It would seem Martin is a bit of a lurker!
Shame he didn't plug the website name though!

I think Marin desrves an OBE for the contribution he has made personally and through running this site to improving people's quality of life.
The advise on the site has transformed my life as a single parent. I am grateful to him for what he has enabled me to give my daughter.0 -

I agree with everything Martin said, you often reduce us to tears SS!!!!:p
Missed opportunity not bringing the bba man back to answer to the mother at the end though. I remember when I applied for a ccard and got offered one with 3k limit - friend up to her eyes in it applied at same time and though I earned 1/2 as much again she got 7k!!!!A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Every time I hear Martin on the radio I'm struck by his amazing personal qualities. He is so clever, funny, passionate and genuine in his concern for other people. He really is an extraordinary man. I agree, he should definitely have an OBE.Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0

I've just been listening to this show - it was cracking.
He is very passionate - I did feel for the people calling in though. Wonder if we'll see any of them on here? The early bird gets the worm but the second mouse gets the cheese :cool:0 -

Just listened to it...aww Martin, bless you! Was very proud of you...all that passion! As for the guy from the banking do dah...ahhhhh!! Must be paid a fortune to spread those lies! What planet is he on! Most people (ie mugs like us!) didnt have a b@@@dy clue before we came on here...lying toad he was (mutter, mutter) & as for people paying money off credit card straight away...responsible banks...yeah right!! Thanks for the link, really enjoyed shouting at my pc.
A HUMOUNGOUS hug for you Martin if you're listening. You have literally changed my life. Being in debt was the worst thing that ever happened to me. Despite being intelligent (intelligent enough to go to the same BFJ uni as you my boy!!) with good job managed to really !!!! things up & that had an impact on all areas of my life. While it will take years to get out of the hole I know I'll get there with the help & support of my DFW's, family & friends. So a tearful thank you from me. Really dont know what I would have done without you. OK enough gushing...gotta go for my massage (which I SAVED for!!)...hugs DFW's!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1!
