What size containers for what veg roughly speaking?

Hello,
Sorry, have had loads of questions! I am growing from seeds lots of herbs and for my veg I am growing-
Potatoes
tomatoes
broccoli
kale
courgette
cucumber
peppers
carrots
cauliflower
onions
spring onion
and a few others and as I know that I will be needing lots of compost I still don't want to 'waste' any. I have radishes and lettuce too to grow. I am not sure how small pots I can get away with and for what. Any ideas? I know that my potatoes need room and so do carrots but how little room does my salad stuff need. Has anyone got any pictures too? I would like to try to keep the costs down as much as possible! Thank you :)

You want deep buckets or bags for your spuds as these will require filling up gradually as the plants get bigger, this encourages more tubers to grow. Scallions dont root that deep so maybe a planter type pot with about 6" depth should suffice. Tomato will depend on what type they are, if its a small bush cherry type then something like a hanging basket is enough once you've propagated the seeds. Not really any experience with anything else in your list in pots.

Your brassica plants will need a tub about 15" deep and the same across per plant, given the size of the root ball they make. Also the soil has to be really firm so shop compost won't do. You'll need to use topsoil.
