Have read all your brilliant tips for a while now, and finally, out of the blue we are engaged and planning a summer wedding!
It will be a small affair, and I want it to be stress free and relaxed.
I have never dreamed of the BIG dress, but want something I wouldn't normally wear.
I have looked online at a few things, Monsoon, bridal shops etc. But nothing yet.
I a size 18 with HUGE boobs, making strapless a no-go (or does anyone disagree?).
I also have alot of scarring on ym arms due to a skin condition (I know that I sound a real catch!) and so want to cover them up, sleeves or lace shrug type thing.
Due to moving house, exams and general life I will have limited time, can anyone recommend a couple of good places to go and try on as many different styles as poss to try and get an idea??
I live in North London, and am also not averse to getting a dress made.
Budget - no fixed idea, but not over £500 ideally!

i didnt try a single dress on just ordered mine online from america. im in the same boat as you, im a 16/18 with GG cups but my dress is strapless. the boning and fit of the dress keeps you held in and i never wear anything strapless!
theres lots of lovely dresses out there, have a look online at what you like the look of.0 -
You may find an organza shrug easier than lace or other fabric sleeves in the summer - it's lighter to wear

Thanks anderson8 - can I ask where did you buy your lingerie?
Am thinking of starting with a corset being made and then fitting the dress around it (so to speak)?
I am after something a bit hippie and bohemian as want to wear birkenstocks for the whole day!Give yourself a Chistmas bonus £14 a week!

Debenhams do up to a size 20-22 I think, and nice wee lacy cardi type things, boleros, shrugs etc.Present yourself, press your clothes, comb your hair, clock in

im not wearing a corset or bra on my day!(if you hadve told me that before i got my dress, i wouldve said you were crazy)
but my dress totally supports me and "holds me in"
i did get a nice strapless bra from debenhams when i was a bridesmaid for my sister if that helps any0 -
Thanks Carmen, had a good look on Debenhams and found a couple of things I like.
I am going to try a strapless bra and dress combo tomorrow.
Anderson, I would be intrigued to know where you got your dress, do you have the website still??

Bravissimo are really good for underwear. All their staff are larger chested and knowhow important it is to get good fitting underwear, if you can get in to one of their stores then go, they do offer phone advise, I've not tried that though. I'm a F cup, very few places stock my size and most argue with me about what size I am!0

Thanks guys. Anderson that is a gorgeous dress!
I am off to Rigby and Peller to get a basque fitted, then monsoon and debenhams to day and the wedding show at Olympia tomorrow.
Intend then to slim fast for 2 months and then buy the dress! That is enough time for 23rd July??
