Congratulations. Well done on staying focused to run and business and sell it on while you had all that going on. Just think what you can achieve now
  • Congratulations - and thanks so much for such a postive post

I wish I had started my MES journey when I owed £24k - I would be with you now - and I know what you mean about starting in debt as a student and it spiralling - it becomes a way of life.

Thanks for reminding us all that there is light at the end of the tunnel

    Well well done !

My DFW journey is nearly over and I am getting excited.

Unfortunately, there has to be some pain but it makes you appreciate your achievements even more and sets you up for the rest of your life.

To all those just starting your journey of a DFW, you'll need patience to see it through but let bunglejemson's inspiring story prove to you that you will get there in the end.
Thanks to MSE I cleared £37k of debt in five years and I was lucky enough to meet Martin to thank him personally.
  • I love this post by Bungle. It shows how, with a bit of perseverence we CAN do it. You can't get much lower (in our developed country) than he went but he got there. I hope he enjoys his new DF life and I would love to trot along to the bank with him to join him in telling them to .... off.

Keep going DFWs. We will all get there. :j

PS I am now going to try and persuade my wife to run to work and back. It's only 38 miles each way! :D
Credit cards + Loans - Savings in Jan 2012 = £26,228.16 . Need to get paying them off!

  • Well done, its great to see posts like these, they really spur me on!! although I would argue your case that barclays are the worst bank, i'm assuming you have never had the joy of Lloyds TSB - Total nightmare :)

    Well done and congrat,
I became debt free 2 weeks ago as well after paying back £7500 to Lloyds. I still don't feel extremely happy but will do when my salary arrives next week, I'm going shopping (well only need to buy some socks :)).
