Contracting for your old employer?

Hi,
I was made redundant last August and have recently been asked to go back to my old employer as a contractor to finish off some remaining tasks.
I have signed up to an umberella company, and I work for them. The umbarella company charges my old employer, and works out all my tax and NI, and then pays my wage.
Does anybody know where I stand regarding tax - specifically on the redundancy payment I was made last year?
Thanks in advance,
