Flying freehold ?

Options
I have just spoken to an agent about a house that I like. It is terraced, with a garage and is joined to the next house by this garage. The odd thing is that above the garage is a bedroom belonging to the other house. Apparently it is part of the style of the house (60s).

Does anyone have any thoughts or experiences of this?

That is a heck of a flying freehold. You really would need to get a solicitor to check out your rights and responsibilities with that one.

Sounds live the neighbouring house has the flying freehold, not the house you are interested in.

Lots of lenders won't lend on them, and the title to flying freeholds are often unsatisfactory and leave you reliant on indemnity insurance policies.
