Is World Ventures a Pyramid? Network? or a scam?

Hello,
Last week I was approached by a close friend to join his business called "World Venture". That basicly sells a product of a membership to a cheaper holiday deals. I was told I was thrid in the line and so close to the top that it was a win win situation. I was told to pay £185.00 sterling or $279.00 US dollars. Alarm bells started to ring when I was told that everything was going to be delt with in US dollars. I had to recruit at least four people a month to stay on the chain. This would then stop my charges of $49.99US dollars per month. After looking into this company and only paying them $9.99 US dollars and incuring a £1.00 sterling for over seas transation fee I am more than concerened that this hard selling scheme is going to hit the most vulnerable. I have already read that they are already trying to recruit students and I feel the most vulerable people would be tempted by this unrealistic dream. Please can you advise me if this company is even legal as I have read that after saturating the USA and having many law suits set aganist them they have now come across and are trying to do the same to Europe. Please advise me if I need to pass this on to any other leagal or goverment agencies.

What can I do now????.I mean should I let the The Office of Fair Trade know or anyone one else....I really would not like anyone especially the most vulerable to fall victim to this...

It is clearly a pyramid scam as it relies on you recruiting others to make any profit. Run a mile. Your friend must be getting desparate if he is reduced to recruiting you and it is likely to be the end of your friendship.0
