If above link does not work go to http://www.pcworld.co.uk product code 825359.
You can also use quidco for 5% and if you search the forums there is an NHS discount of 5% (however as I am not an NHS employee and wanted to keep my right to return the product to a PC world store I decided not to use it.)
I think the RRP for these was about £100 so £15.96 is a bargain (I am sure a genuine standard battery would cost more). Only problem is as I understand it these are quite big, and as they do not fit in the battery compartment, they clip on the back of the Ipaq meaning cases and mounts that were previously used no longer work and the ipaq is bigger and heavier. I personally decided to buy one for satellite navigation to prolong battery life after looking at the cost of mounts and cig light chargers.
I cannot be 100% certain that this is a genuine HP Ipaq extended battery for a 2210. However, a number of things are in favour.
1, PC world in general is a reputable dealer and will not sell unbranded.
2, The picture depicts the item and clearly shows a 2210 on the product packaging and the words "extended battery".
3, the size and weight of the pack suggest that this is the item pictured.
(Unfortunately a HP product/UPC code, or the mAh spec is not provided.)
Hope this helps someone with an Ipaq 2210
Good luck! And I will report back when I receive my order!

Please post back if it is indeed the extended battery as i was looking for one of these, like you especially for sat-nav.
Im a bit worried about the specs though, thats one big battery!!
- Black Colour
- 235.71mm Width
- 45.97mm Depth
- 177.8 mm Height
although im pretty sure they are not accurate give the weight in the specs.
- 238 Weight (kg)
Image does show the extended 2210 battery though.

I measured out the size of the measurements given. If you look at them and look at the image and imagine the battery inside it (comparing with the picture) it works out about right, so I am guessing the size and weight is for the whole package. But hopefully they won't take too long sending me it and then I can see for definite
You can of course return the item to a PC world for a refund. The only problem is the £5.99 postage0 -

yeah ive seen them pics before, and it is a huge battery but i only use mine for sat-nav so its sat in a holder 99.9% of the time, so the size isnt an issue.
For £16 though, might be worth taking the chance, like you say a standard size HP genuine battery would cost more than that!!

any news on this?
Thanks

Despatched today by DHL. It's currently in Milton Keynes apparently so I am hoping tomorrow
Found a Car PDA holder in poundland today (for £1 lol) so hopefully the battery will be the one I want it to be and the holder will hold it well
Interestingly the same battery is on sale for £99.99 at currys. Still part of the same company (DSG Retail)

Could anyone provide the product number or confirm that this is compatible with the IPAQ 2215 (I'd assume it is but want to be sure before ordering) - many thanks0

Just received the item. I can confirm that these are 3600mAh extended batteries for the HP Ipaq h2200 series. Part number FA197A#AC3. It comes with a ROM update CD in case your Ipaq doesn't have the latest version (v1.10 I think).
A cool feature I never knew of is that you can simply plug the charger into the battery itself (no need to plug it into the ipaq) so I am glad I got 2. Now I can leave one at home on charge while I am on the go and swap over the batteries if I need to leaving the other on charge.
So yes these will work with the 2215 which AFAIK is the same as the 2210. However note the added bulk and weight of the battery (shown in the link above). A saving of £180 on 2 batteries. I am very happy. Got one on charge now.0 -
Many thanks Anewman - slightly off-topic but can I ask what size/type of memory card and sat receiver you are using for your nav software0
