  • Any one with any sense, would give these cowboys a wide berth.
Hence a zero balance on two accounts.....but hopefully £150 in 6 to eight weeks which will be swiftly transferred out.

From memory, they state that the £75 will only be paid on one account (or maybe only one per account holder) check their website for details.

    Edit: See http://www.nationwide.co.uk/popup/flex_switch_offer_terms.htm

    14. Only one £75 payment will be made per customer regardless of the number of qualifying accounts held. For qualifying joint accounts only one £75 payment will be made per qualifying FlexAccount.
  • They are both joint accounts so should be fine.

However, you can transfer a joint account into a solo Flex Account, so if you have 2 joint accounts and 2 solo Flex Accounts (edit - in different names) you could get £75 each.

I think transferring a single joint a/c, then setting up a new SO on the same and transferring it (again) to the second solo a/c before 5 March is probably too optomistic - nice idea though :rotfl:

Baldur's point was that if you transfer a joint a/c into a joint Flex a/c you will only get £75 as there's only one qualifying Flex a/c - or are you saying you have 2 foreign joints and 2 Flex joints?

But see my point above about transferring 2 foreign joints (or 1 joint/1 solo) into 2 solo Flex a/cs - the only thing you can't do is transfer a foreign solo a/c into a joint flex account.

Oh really? I have been with nationwide for years and in the past few years,i have not been impressed.

It just shows what loyality gets you..sod all.

I'm going to first direct. They are offering £100
    www.firstdirect.com

a trading style of HSBC...recently voted the worlds most trusted bank..

... but this is open to existing customers as well! As stated elsewhere on here, you only need to let them switch one Standing Order or Direct Debit from another account and you will then get £75 (after they credit the £75, you can cancel the SO!). Have done this a number of times in recent years and only really keep this account now for overseas spending and their offers ...

I would do this offer and also the First Direct, as this one won't result in a credit check if you already have an accoubt, so £175 for very little effort!

  • I've been reading this thread with interest as I use my Nationwide current account just for my spending money. I've created a SO into my daughters savings account from another current account which has no SO's, given NW the info and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I get the £75.

  • ok so I'm confused... I have the following... Flex acc £300 OD and a £0 balance (emergency OD as I tried and tried to close it but they always had a reason why I shouldn't/couldn't).

so I transfered from my other account to them for the £75

    - DD Contact lenses £35
    - DD phone £37
    - DD petplan £13
    - SO mum £100
    - SO rent £550

should I add these up and make sure it's available from my nationwide account AND my other account on the day that these should have gone out from my original account or will they change the dates too?

Just thinking I don't want to end up with money in the wrong places!

It all depends on the dates the DDs and SOs go out. If it is in less than approx 2 weeks then the new DD might still be taken from the old a/c. So for DDs make sure you have money in both a/c. With SOs, generally cancellation need only about 2 days. So if any SOs are to go out say after 4-5 days, then you can safely delete the SO from the old a/c and the SO from Nationwide should kick in correctly - check the dates though.

If my standing orders and bill payees have been transferred over, is there anything else I need to do or am I in good standing to get the £75 cashback? Reason I ask is because Nationwide have sent me a couple forms to fill out to "finish the transfer" but looks like I'd be transferring my wages and bank balance if I did it and I don't want to do that!
