Help.. i've got several programs recorded on my V+ box that i want to be able to copy onto CD/DVD on my laptop. Does anyone know if this is possible and if so, what leads i'd need to do it? Laptop is a Sony Vaio.
Thanks :-)

There is no means currently of copying the programmes by simply transferring the data across to your laptop and even if you stripped out the hard drive you'll find its encrypted.
Recordings are only possible via scart so you'll need a converter (several commerically available that will switch the signal on to a usb outlet - they are often sold for converting old VCR recordings to DVD). Then you'll need a real time video recording software for your laptop - again several brands available.
Having done all of that you can only record in real time so a 2 hour film will, miraculously, take 2 hours to record and then you have to burn the DVD on top of that. Also be aware that by pumping it through the scart and the converter there will be a drop-off in quality. My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
