put higher offer in

2 weeks ago i put 2 offers in on a house 215 & 230, house on market for 250, both offers where rejected.
had a phone call yesterday from EA, would i be putting another higher offer in, i said not sure, WHY
she promptly said they where asking becasue they had another offer and wanted to know if i would be re offering..........
do we think this is genuine or their efforts to shake another offer out of me?
i can't offer on anything at the moment so thats not going to happen, but just wanted to know what you guys thought.

Sounds like they're trying to get you to bid up to me. If you can't/don't want to bid higher, then don't. But in a week or so, see if the property is marked as "under offer" on their website/in their window. Then you'll get a feel for how honest the EA's are0
