Could anyone recomend i nice place to go, with DH, 2DD's ages 4 & 6 please, went to Florida last year and it was great but very expensive!! before we had the kids, our holidays used to be mainly in the states, Florida, las vegas an new york, not good really with kids, wanted a family holiday, not to long on the flight, and plenty to do, im stuck as to where to start!! never mind where to go:(. Ideally wanted in school holidays () august, don't really want to spend more than £1500 -£2000, for a week. Don't fancy Eygpt, turkey or Greece either, i know its asking alot but any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.

It's got to be Kenya imo - Going from what you say.
But i have to say, my kids love Vegas and NYC.The Summer Holiday of a Lifetime0 -
Just some places from personal experiebce with 2 young children
We went to Mallorca the other year with slightly younger kids than yours at the time and stayed in a villa near Puerto Pollensa on the northern part of the island
At 4 and 6 your kids will be happy with a nice beach (which it certainly has) and easy paddling on a gently sloping calm sea. Plenty of bars and cafes for all the family and not tacky (like Alcudia next door) with a lovely marina.
Hire a car and drive round the island for days out and visit the aquarium in Palma and maybe the Pirate Show which is supposed to be good. Lovely old fashioned train on western town of Soller with again a lovely cove and beach. Nice drive through the western mountains.
The Eastern part has some lovely beaches and resorts but some are pretty built up and maybe a bit touristy for some as is the area around Palma IMO
Also maybe consider France and the south or south west. In school holidays in summer, weather should be great and a short flight or long drive depending on your preference. We are driving down to the Charente area again this year at a very child friendly group of gites with pool and loads for the kids to do at the "site" and only 4 other families with kids so someone to play with but peace and quiet as well. We had a great time last year as the kdis were so happy and relaxed. Plenty to do if you want to drive out for days out aswell like La Rochelle , la Palmyre zoo and the beaches around Royan. Local wine tasting on tap as well!

Personally I would save the expensive longer haul holidays for when the kids get bigger as they will appreciate it more. At 4 and 6 most kids are just happy with a nice beach or pool and someone to play with (just how it should be!)0 -
Another vote for Mallorca, but places in the North and North-West only, unless you want a "Costa del Sol" type resort!Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac

I simply enjoy being in Florida, its beaches are really wonderful Miami Beach, Palm Beach, Disney World, Universal Studios Florida. just to name the few0
