Wednesday 17th February - What small DFW things have you done today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important!
Morning all!
I'll start today, wish I could have half terms and lie-ins! Still I guess that's to come when DD gets to school age!
Today I have/will:
- Checked banking
- Post bigwardrobe.com swap
- Package up ebay sale
- Lunch from home
- Try not to gorge on biscuits from the tin at work....
- NOT feel bad about the 5 pancakes I had last night...!
- Surveys
- Not use mobile (left it at home, lol)
- Sell a purge! I worked out yesterday that with a week off I'd made an extra £28 in the month through these.
Hope all have a good lazy day!

Hello!
Managed to sneak on pc before teenage hormones rage on facebook and msn!
- Need to do some food shopping - from list of course!
- May go out with OH for lunch, not DFW, but we deserve it, doesn't happen often
- having friends over for book club tomorrow (ha ha!) and have promised 'supper' (whatever that is!) so need to factor that into shopping list plus bottle of something
- talking of bottles am FAFFing (without being brave enough to commit to a list Fay) and am at 14 FAFF's (and the non FAFF's have been very small NAFF's - if a NAFF is a non alcohol free feb! ie 1 small glass) :j
- need to hokey cokey, but shamefully have to put last few HC's away properly
- will think of a few more I'm sure
PS - this thread is usually really busy but has gone rather quiet over the last week or too. If you are lurking please post - I love reading about peoples small things - IYSWIM! :rotfl:
Getting there...slowly!
GC : must do better
NSD: very rare
No matter how slow I go I am lapping everyone on the couch.0 -
A purge is a fuel and air conditioning additive for your car, if I sell a pair at work (for £29.99) I get £2.50. Easy money but it's just remembering to do it!
I've heard of this FAFF thing, what is it???Nothing to report as yet...give me a minute...!0 -
Morning all!
I'm glad Fay asked about the purge - I had no idea either!
Today's list...- All food from home - sausage and mash for tea (remembered to take the sausages out of the freezer last night)
- Walk dog for free exercise (done one already)
- Check banks - bursary due tomorrow, fingers crossed
- Had a chat with OH about the possibility of changing his boy racer car for a cheaper one - he instigated it strangely - may be having to fork out £500 on a service and tyres yesterday
- Think about going on hols and sharing a villa with parents and sister - they already have it booked (been before) and would probably not ask for anything towards it (will offer of course!) so it would only be flights (£130 each) to pay for - not sure about the idea though (OH all for it!)
- Do any surveys that come
- Write all my physics lessons for the next 2-3 weeks - boring but has to be done
- Start shopping list for the weekend

Yes I'm intrigued by faffing too!!
Morning all. Just got up from a lovely lie in thanks to my hubbie! Today I have/will
- done scratchie
- checked online banking
- do surveys
- mystery shop to do - get hubbie to drop me off to save bus fare!
- check for mystery shops
- try to think of something cheap to do with boys today. Was going to take them to the park but it's pouring down. Am thinking of taking them to the kids club at the odeon. You only pay for the kids and that's only £3.50 I think but it feels like a treat to them to go to the cinema.
- buy lottery tickets - hey I can dream!0 -
Just a quick update - just checked internet banking and the loan account has now officially disappeared!:T:j
I made the last payment (a year early) earlier this week and its now all gone - I knew it was finished but it's very satisfying not to see it every time I log on!
Onto working on getting the other one paid off early now - about £3000 to go.
I only have this last loan and a CC to pay off and I'm debt free - about £7500 in total - a big difference from a couple of years ago when it was more like £17,000 - hurrah for me!0 -
Morning All
I am really excited cos DD is coming home for unexpected visit tomorrow:j
Now have lots to do- revise meal planner
- make up spareroom
- bake +++
- NSD:D
- CLAIM VOUCHER FROM SURVEYS:T
- make house sparkle;)
