With you on that one Redlady - I am chuckling away as I read -how come its all coming right for you Mike - send me a couple of ounces of what you are on.

Jonni am totally confused on your instructions but they are fun to read. When I get the report about the wet rot I may ask for some advice from you. i used to work for an Architect.

Miggy i am okay just have to be don't you - been a long day what with doing two jobs (12 hours in all), but have now had my cup of tea and cheese and biscuits, remainder of the ironing can wait until tomorrow.

Will check back to you before going off to bed.

Never really like evaporated milk, but the Fussells thick cream well now that was somethng else:j:j:j:j:j

Don't...get a Building Surveyor to do it instead - they cost less and can achieve the same end result

Oh fine. I'm here for weeks churning this stuff out and you breeze in with your fancy talk about double tacking an RSJ and laying down a damproof liner and all the girls are all over you...

Just registered on this forum, although have been lurking and reading for some time! I was inspired to join after reading Mike's post! I wanted to congratulate him on his recent success and hope that he will win his case against his very dodgy builder! When I first started reading his post I didn't know whether to laugh(at his wit) or cry (at his predicament) did lots of both!! Just wanted to lend a bit more support, although you seem to have plenty of lovely people on here doing just that! Hope this reads ok, first time and all that!!!

Thanks shonad. Appreciate your comments. Can't have enough support. May I put you down for the catering squad? A bit of sanding?

Oh and if your're of the female persuasion, Jonni's here somewhere. You'll find him surrounded by women listening to his tales from the days before anything was 800mm long or whatever and people still washed their paintbrushes out in turps or something and chemical DPCs were nobbut a glint in a builder's eye...

I expect he'll design you a dream home if you ask. And show you his dibber.

    Yea, yeah yeah...

Always the experts isn't it? Two terms at night school and a top pocket full of pens and slide rules... And then you'll expect me to make you tea and listen to how wonderful he was and how awful you feel and why are all surveyors pigs, and oh god mike you're such a good mate, how do you think I could get him back...

Yeah, like, whatever... Jonni's in there.

Was he always jonni3000? Where did the '3000' bit come from? Was that there to begin with? Why stop there? Why not jonni3000turboGL ? With his Aston Martin Theodolite 9000 purring at the kerb outside...

I'll give him 800mm from the floor...

(Sorry woohoo, we're in the middle of a running gag! :) Shan't be a moment. Pour a drink and I'll be back to say Hi properly. Assuming Mr Permitted Development has to rush off to an urgent planning appeal or something)
