It may sound silly my dear but no sillier than you'd LOOK in a wig & heels! :p

So we're gonna go for this yes? :T

Let's see what everyone thinks. If we can get the right person through Martin's address book, it's quite likely to be looked at seriously, because they would use this place as part of the story.

Would it be too cryptic to have a name reflecting Isben's "The Doll's House"? Which, depending how you interpret it, could be seen as quite ironic! :)

Happy Fabulous Friday all, hope we're all having a good one.

Count me in as one of the posse, I'll do whatever it takes to get this sorted. My only reservation is, does anyone have any idea of the quality of the workmanship on these programmes? I don't mean to rain on anyone's Easter Parade, but I was watching one of these programmes once and at the end when they wre showing the transformation I spotted some real dodgy workmanship (I think they had painted over a light switch or something). Ever since then I seem to notice more.

Having said that, with your property being almost uninhabitable, any further DIY help would be better than nothing.

Doh! Sorry to be so negative.

Hope I haven't put too much of a dampener on things.

    Poo

I hope those who thanked me will understand why I edited this post.

Doh! Sorry to be so negative about this but another thought just struck me and this is possibly quite important.

Mike your current living conditions and the fact that you can't have your lads over to live in some degree of comfort could form some basis on your fight to force the sale of Bandit Bodgit Bridle's property. To some degree, by taking away your stressful living conditions you may be taking away some of your weight in court.

It's a tough call, I mean on the one hand, we can jump on the momentum of the publicity of The One Show, but on the other hand, having come through at least one winter in your dire situation, we're now approaching summer so obviously it's not going to be quite so dire. Could you live with it for a little while longer, given that circumstances will improve a little for the next few months or so and go with the forced sale plan?

As I said, sorry to be a little negative but this is serious stuff and with odds of 0.4% success rate on forced sales, Mike needs all the clout he can get to win his case.

Personally Mike, I believe you are a future member of the 0.4% Club.

I've drafted my application and will use that argument and anything I can about the living conditions, such as my son's asthma.

Good one, Poo. We like you.

Yes SB it's a crock of crap! Damned if you do, damned if you don't. I'm guessing this is what Mike's life has been like for the last couple of years or so. every decision is a hard decision and each has consequences. I just hope that somehow these decisions and consequences are a little easier for Mike to deal with now knowing that we are all behind him.

Mike, you know we'll back you what ever you decide to do, as long as it's legal. (Well ok, as long as it's not completely illegal! lol).

  • So if you're sticking to the legal route Mike, do we put the e-mail on hold or proceed?

    I'm confused! :o

Can we not move on the e-mail to DIY SOS at the same time? All these things take time anyway???

Your building regs stuff would need to be in place too for the show to proceed if they agreed to make the repairs! ???

Wouldn't it still be an idea to at least try for a contact name & e-mail address for the programme. (just in case, at least we'd be ready!)
