Saving money as a student

  • I live in the middle of nowhere. So i don't spend money on transport because i live right on campus. Thats one of the main reasons i live in halls, its quite a distance from the halls to the town and the town is very small and expensive to live in. You need to have transport like a car to find the cheaper places becaue they are right out of town

The takeaways are usually once every two three weeks, but then thats normally because me and my friend have our own movie nights, and normally its paid for by our poker nights. I play poker once every two weeks with my friends. £3 buy in and its normally me or my friend who wins. Thats the money for our chinese.

I do smoke roll ups, i am down to around 12.5 a week at the moment. Its mainly the after dinner cigarette i love and one with a pint!

I do surveys, thats my dvd money. When the boyfriend visits we get dvds with the vouchers and stay in and have a cosy night instead of going out.

He's saving money too, he's not a student anymore and puts aside a bit of his pay check every month.

I am planning on writing everything down that i buy now, just to see what its going on. And i've got work over easter so i'm going to put that aside and save it hopefully i won't end up going into it!
