So solicitors with many years experience are never wrong or just always right...........?

It wasn't me criticising someone else's advice for being 'technical' rather than practical.
I am an employment solicitor. However, my views should not be taken to be legal advice. It's difficult to give correct opinion based on the information given by posters.

am considering rescinding the notice , starting a consultation process , and then , probably , giving out the redundancy notice .
    Any ideas ?

So you're considering admitting you were wrong (even if you were not) then going on to make them redundant again after what will be painfully apparent as a "sham" consultancy process because you've already (quite reasonably imho) decided on the result.

I'd really get legal advice before doing any of that if I were you.

Yes I am considering this , If this is what the employee is saying should have happened , then let it happen .
If it goes wrong then nothings lost .

She may even have some good ideas .
