I stood my ground and told them we wanted the kitchen changing - they told us it will put us back a month, and offered us tiled floors in the kitchen, bathroom and downstairs toilet if we just accepted it and moved in next week. I stuck to getting the kitchen changed and told them I think we ought to be getting some sort of compensation for being messed about when it wasn't our mistake, so we'll see what they come back with!
Why isn't your solicitor negotiating this?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
I did contact her about it,a and she said she would pass on our concerns to their legal dept, but it's not really something she would deal with. And to be honest, after the stamp duty situation I don't know if I would have felt comfortable leaving it in their hands anyway!0

So they're admitting that things will be put back a month because they messed up  I certainly hope they offer some kind of compensation - will you have out of pocket expenses?
Agree that your solicitor should be playing a role in this. What does the contract say?0 -

Ask for another solicitor in the same practice: you pay their wages! Did this firm come recommended??Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
You are paying for a property which is not as described, and your solicitor is not already making waves? She is being paid to take these worries off your back, ask for a senior partner to have words.
