I've had that reason given in feedback from the interviews I've been called for. I don't think I am unemployable - I have experience in all the jobs I'm going for!

But others might think you are.

My auntie was unemployed for ages, went to countless interviews and never got a job, she says its because she was overqualified, but we all know thats not the reason.

She was as daft as a post, had no common sense and was a right stuck up madam, god it makes me angry even thinking about her

If you think your overqualified this will come across in an interview even if you don't want it to.

I'm not saying you are, just that its possible that some people cant see the pink mammoth in the room.

I wonder if that's why in EVERY job jojo has done during her years at School and University, ther employer has always wanted her to stay/return.
    Assumptions are a wonderful thing.:D

Organising a fax sheet by the phone makes you more qualified than your old boss

You crack me up I too emerege on your posts now & then mainly because you chat *hit

yeah...especially when the boss was a solicitor and the poster a secretary :rotfl: HUGE job differences and bizarely the solicitor (who apparently wasn't a solicitor pmsl) wouldn't be doing things like organizing fax numbers, they have other things to do.But hey...of course the secretary was more qualified and the solicitor didn't like that:rotfl: what a threat eh!!!
