    Also, are you in England?

When I got into med school all I needed was a-levels , a UCAS form and a good interview

But medicine sucks, really. It's rubbish for making money - do dentistry.

This is the first year UKCAT has ran, so there will be little info out there atm, outside that available on the UKCAT website.

IIRC you have until September the 19th to take it for 2007 entry.

There are plenty of threads on these sites re: UKCAT

OK.. had to rush off earlier..

I can tell you that there's a section on decision making - which I think may test moral choices and your ability to make decisions quickly, but I don't really know that much..

there's also a section on cognative ability - this is things like matching the next shape in the series, moving 3d shapes around and seeing which ones match up and other things like that - you may have done similar questions as part of an IQ test or if you did the NFER tests in school you will have done a cognative test before..

You can't really revise for it.. so just turn up calm and collected.

From a test admin's point of view - turn up on time (at least 15 mins before your allocated time - preferably before that), with your ID ready. Make sure you know exactly where you are going, because if you are late you can't test.

    Good luck!

    Where are you testing it?

If you become a medical student, you will have to stick your finger up someone's bum in 2nd year. Yuk. Rather you than me

I can't work out if you're a liar, mentally ill, a bit of a fool or all three!

Thought you claimed to be a medic?

I got bored about learning about immunoglobins and stuff

And you do have to stick your finger up a bum - I can't believe you didn't know that!!!

I have done plenty of vivas (they're like oral exams)

I would have thought that it would be a lot more unpleasant to have a medical student stick there finger up your bum than to have to do it.

I'd rather have no fingers up my bum at all thanks.

I think they do it to feel for prostate cancer amongst other things. They get loads of vaseline and just stick it up there. Gross
