I want to start a coach trip business - who owns bus stops?

Options
I'm looking to go into business with a friend doing coach trips.
We are going to start small with day trips, and perhaps build up after that.

I need some help on bus stops, if I have a mini-bus/coach can I pick up & drop off at bus stops? Do I have to contact the council? Can I put a notice board at the roadside?

If this is on the wrong board, please move.

Thanks
I'm getting older, and lifes getting harder!

I think best bet is to ask the council TBH!

Normally the council or a Passenger Transport Authority owns the bus stops. Sometimes it is a bus operator.

You should contact the Public Transport Unit at the local council for guidance on stopping arrangements.

With regard to notices, unlikely any council or pte allows operators to erect their own information/notices at stops, else it leads to a mess in terms of presentation and consistency, in addition, some operators have been know to remove their rival's information.

Again, contact the local public transport unit for guidance.
