Fired for Gross Misconduct - where to go now?

There's a misunderstanding here. The ISA deals with any misconduct involving children. A CRB would be affected if there has been police involvement.........The issue has not been raised with GTC or the IFL. The justification the College gave for my dismissal were misdemeanours, none of my actions were illegal and therefore no information was passed onto my CRB. The information they collected made me a poor manager, not a danger to children.....
However, the GTC is set up to deal with dismissals due to Gross Misconduct and could affect the rest of your teaching career. Obviously depends on if you're registered with them or not and don't want to add to your worries, just something to be aware of.Saving money right, left and centre0 -
Thanks - just to clarify - I teach and am qualified to teach in the FE sector, my PGCE is in FE and I am not therefore registered with the GTC but the IFL. There was no police involvement or misconduct involving children.0

OP you mention ommiting dates from your CV as being illegal - the CV is a living document, you create it to sell yourself. There's certainly no law which prescribes the structure or content of your CV. It's your choice at the end of the day, just reflect on it and be sure you're happy with the choice you make re: what you include on your CV. All we can ever do is make the best decision available to us at the time. So if you do decide to omit something from your CV don't worry about it once you have.
Why do you want to work abroad? I'm sure it would be easier for you with the agency experience to get a job over here?
You know that you did nothing wrong that is what matters, don't let the letter from the college bother you. Why should you value their comments, when they a religious institution, act in this way towards you?
Start thinking about what you want from your next job and map out ways you might move towards achieving those aims. The future is bright, be positive - and bounce back!

Just to answer a few questions to make it easier for people to advise. The issue has not been raised with GTC or the IFL. The justification the College gave for my dismissal were misdemeanours, none of my actions were illegal and therefore no information was passed onto my CRB. The information they collected made me a poor manager, not a danger to children – just thought I best clear this up. The letter reads of 'hear say', and many of the discussions that were 'overheard' did not actually happen and were fabricated. The worst offence being that I swore, this never happened.
You may not want to discuss details in a public forum - but were the allegations to do with not acting appropriately for a Catholic institution (which may not bother a more secular organisation) or would they be viewed as a problem more generally?0 -

Thanks for your reply - It was not acting appropriately in a Catholic Institution... I acted the same as I had done in all my jobs and never had problems before. I have always been an extravert and the students enjoyed a fun working environment. I always worked incredibly hard and got the results with the students.
P.S Apolonation – thanks for your positive comments. I think I wrote the wrong thing there, what I meant was that I do not want to be fired in my next job for leaving information off my CV.0 -
Just tell us what you did.0

How DARE you.
C might have her quirks, and I don't always see eye to eye but how dare you call her a Nazi.
Some things are just not funny. You are one of them.0 -
I can not be forthcoming with a detailed account of events because the fear of someone from that College recognises me. They tried to ruin my career, bullied me out of my job, disposed of my possessions whilst I was on sick leave and made me have nervous breakdown. But thanks for sensitivity Proc. Anyway I think the advice given has been great and the forum has been very helpful. Thanks for giving me a focus on what to do next and a little more confidence in getting out of this situation. Much appreciated.0

So, Usually Angry;
You come in here and make sickening 'jokes' about exactly where the OP needs to go to in order to satisfy himself without any comeback; accuse people of being nazis when they find your comments distasteful; and then put a metaphorical arm round the OP pretending that you are now his bessie mate.
Classy, so very classy.0
