Call Out Charges help!

The shop should have told you there is a call out fee.
If the guy has admitted he is having problems with people not asking then by not telling them regardless, he is a chancer, and you should report him to your local trading standards department. I would phone them up for advice before doing anything.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

When I started my business I called trading standards for advice. I advertise 'no call out charge' - which applies only during office hours.
When I carry out work I still charge an hourly rate.
I was told this was OK and the law was based on the view on what would be reasonable busness prascise
The bottom line is someone was asked to do a task of work, diagnosed it was not within the appliace and charged (although I personally think the charge was a bit high).baldly going on...0 -
The way I read it the fault was wiring within the cooker and the firm, whilst happy to change an element didn't fancy fault finding the wires.
I assumed that the OP would have noticed if nothing was working as would be the case if the fault was external to the cooker0
