prep school cost

I wasn't asking because i wanted to queue jump,or hoping that my daughter would get into grammar with a low 11 plus mark. Sorry .she is actually very bright and being held back in her present school.0

fullerton house (one of methodys prep schools - the other is downey house) was very enjoyable in my experience!! i'm not sure about class sizes now, but when i went there were two P1 classes with a max class size of about 12, with class sizes getting bigger as you get older.
the reason for my parents choosing a prep school were that i was ready to go to school a year early and no other school would let me do that. my brother was in a primary school and when he transferred to the prep his standard was a year below what was expected in the prep school.0 -

Then why couldn't she just phone up the school and ask?0 -

Where's the sense in that? Surely a kid who can get a high mark in an "ordinary" school is infinitely brighter than the kid who had an advantage with the "better" school yet didn't do as well?I know of someone who put their child into Victoria in P5. The advantage is 'queue jumping' into big school - the grammars take kids from their preps with lower 11-plus grades than the regular entrant. Also, you don't have to mingle with the riff raff
.I'm not bad at golf, I just get better value for money when I take more shots!0 -

why not prep school i say. At least the children are benefitting from a "BETTER" education on the money spent.( I can only go by own experience) My children went to methody prep.
couldnt rate it highly enough.
But i know people who say I'd love to send little "jonny" to prep school but I cant afford it - and then smokes at least £2,000 worth of cigarettes a year......!!!!!!0 -
I went to Victoria Prep. I joined in P6 (was in Richmond Lodge Prep and it merged with Victoria).
I would say 22/24 in my class passed their 11 plus (1988) and Mrs Cuppit was an amazing teacher (think she is the head now). All kids went on to the grammer.
It was a good school back then and would say it is now if Mrs Cuppit is in charge.
My cousins went to Methody prep, again, another good school!
My kids go to non-prep primary as no prep in my area and wouldnt pay the fees anyway.
All the best, whatever you decide xGroceries challenge
