The other day my Peuguot 206 wont start, but it was ticking over and all the light came on, ie the battery light and that. So I thought that it was the battery and went out and purchased a new one.
The day after I put the new battery in I got into my car and it wont start. No lights came on at all. After several pushes of the car the car started and the warning lights came on and it worked for a day and a bit.
Today I went to put the radio code in and put the key in and again no light came on and the car wont start or even tick over.
Does anyone have any sugguestions what could be wrong with the car ???
Thanks

Immobiliser issue? Not an expert on the 206 though I'm afraid. I also have an inkling that the alternator might need some attention.Proud of who, and what, I am. :female::male::cool:0

the coil pack failed on my saxo (after about 3 years).
It started out as the engine sounding pooh and intermittently cutting out
I assume the 206 might use similar parts - the citroen dealership pretty much admitted they were "expletive".
Sounds like a possible candidate - if you have the other issues?
First place i'd have a poke at is the alternator though.
https://www.206info.co.uk exists as well (a quick glance at the forums suggests that might be a place to look)0 -
I have just tried the car again and it works. The lights came on and it started up first time. Could it be a short circuit somewhere ?cross stitch cafe #90 UFO's 6 to finish in 2013, and loads of new kits to boot

could it even be as simple as the fan belt snapped? although then it wouldnt have started at all that time.
my really old fiesta had a dodgey connection of the battery and wires sometimes, could it be dirty or oily wires not getting a good connection?0 -
im amazed at how many folk don't notice what lights come on when the car normally starts, the battery light will come on every time the ignition is put on,so it was no indication that the battery was flat, its just telling you it isn't being charged, it should go out when the engine is started.
i would get the alternator checked out, i would also double check your battery connections, if your 206 is the same as fiancees it will have the same quick release terminals, give then a good clean and make sure you can't move them once fitted....work permit granted!0 -
check the engine earth that comes off the negative from the battery to the top of the gear box , the wire can vibrate loose / brake22864 quid and counting , but now proud to be dealing with it :j
