Anyone know about Cystic Fibrosis and if it is classed as disablement?

I am very unaware, i have a need to find out what this disease is all about, please help me if you can:

Is this classed a disablement? If so, how severe is it?

What kind of medicines does the patient usually have to use and how often?

What is a usual life expectancy of a CF sufferer who has been diagnosed from childhood?

When they have a "attack" or a bout of illness, what is it usually that they are suffering from? like heart? Kidneys? Lungs? Bone pains, etc??

Do they need anything special in their life to be comfortable or better?

How can i help them out? Are they entitled to any benefits from the state?

Thank you, i hope someone can help here.

Benefits are given on the basis of care / mobility needs or the person not being able to work. The diagnosis doesn't matter.

Why don't you ask the person about his/her condition? They may give you the answers of how severe it is (as I believe it varies) and what meds they are taking. I don't understand why you would want to know unless you were enquiring about benefits on their behalf.
