Purpose of Iceland bonus card?

Hello there Forum readers
Can you enlighten me with the purpose of presenting an Iceland bonus card at the checkout?
When I signed up I thought my rewards would be similar to Tesco (quarterly vouchers) or Sainsbury’s (Argos points) or Co-operative (points converted into money)
I have had my registered Iceland card for over 1yr now and have received zilch via the post and only of late the scratch cards that does not scratch to anything I buy at Iceland So I am beginning to wonder what is the use in presenting my Iceland bonus card at the checkout?
I’ve asked more than one of the cashiers and they don’t know One suggested that I ask Iceland so I emailed them and to-date have received no reply and so I’m asking here
Any input would be appreciated
Thanks

My mum has an Iceland bonus card, a few months back she received a couple of vouchers.
I assume its abit like a clubcard, but the rewards are on a much lower scaleJust me, in my own little world

my OH works for Iceland. The card has now taken place of the home delivery cards so if you ever have home delivery they now need to swipe your bonus card for it.
Also its meant so that they can enter you into draws, competitions etc. So everytime you swipe the card you are entered. Like this month they have got a trolley dash (in my OH store anyway-not sure if its all stores). So the person who is randomly selected for that is done so because of the bonus card swiping.
Also I think that it is to send you coupons and vouchers etc but as you say you have not got any of these i may be wrong.:j0 -
I got one too and although i only go to Iceland every few months i usually spend about £70 every time.
I have had mine for over a year too and have had one letter so far and a couple of texts.
Every time i go in the scratch card offer isn't on.
I don't really mind though as i always get good bargains when i go there.(c) Broke in Yorkshire. ( there are worse places )
Those that matter don't mind and those that mind don't matter!0 -
Probably for their own marketing purposes to see what you are buying.
My Iceland don't even ask for the bonus card anymore.0 -
I've had one of these cards for a year or so. Occasionally I get a mailing in the post with something pathetic like 50p off when buying a product I wouldn't buy anyway, and lately I've been given scratchcards at the till again for pennies off something I wouldn't bother buying. Never any decent offers. I don't shop at Iceland much - maybe once every few weeks for a couple of bits - but would have expected the card to have better rewards than this!0

i have just signed up to one of these because my local iceland has no parking and if i want to do a big shop its a trek to the car but with my new bonus card if i put £25 or more in my trolley they deliver it same day free also there is the regular competition thing and lately the scratchcard every time i shop they do the cheapest milk £1 for 4 pints so i nip in there regularly anyway so im happy for the extra bonusesI LOVE BETTY CROCKER0

We have an iceland card and so far have only got a couple of vouchers. They did a really nice voucher for christmas though, a free joint of turkey that feeds 9 people! Only two of us though so we gave it away to some of my mother's family as they have a lot of people for dinner every night.
Otherwise we haven't had much but they do monthly draws and such, you can see more on their website.I'm still driving away and I'm sorry everyday,
I won't always love these selfish things.0 -

I still use mine though not yet recieved anything. I did ask once at the checkout if we were to expect anything through the post, the cashier looked surprised that I hadn't and gave me a form to fill in to query this. A couple of weeks later I received some vouchers for things I wouldn't buy, so don't even think they are used to track purchaces/research:cool:0

I think we've received a couple of vouchers and we got a scratch card once, and we've had the card for a year.. seems a bit pointless really0
