Credit record and searches

I have just got my credit record from both Experian and Equifax, my report is very good overall but I do have 12 searches in the last 12 months, is this a lot? Am I right in saying that the searches come off after a year? If so, 6 are due to come off in June, 1 in July and the rest in November, I would really like to apply for a 0% card to move my Citicard balance to after the recent interest rate hike, does anyone have any advice about the best way forward - thanks:)

12 is a substantial number, I would wait another 2/3 months before applying as you might sound desperate to any lender

What kind of searches are they? If they are all credit searches, 12 is substantial.

If they are marked as unrecorded enquiry, quotation, insurance, money laundering or similar they will not count towards your credit searches and cannot be seen by companies searching your file.

Yep, they are correct, I remember each one of them, I used to have a problem stepping away from the submit button, but I'm ok now:D

That what I thought too, although I would like to get a 0% bt card I'm hoping to be able to clear the balance on the Citicard fairly soon so I'm not really in need.

All 12 are credit searches and I have 2 that are not credit based, you have all confirmed what I knew anyway, so thanks:) It could be worse, I'll just have to sit tight for now:)
